Bio
Nicholas Preddey is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker who works with adolescents twelve and over and adults across a broad range of mental health presentations. His professional background spans headspace, Employee Assistance Program services, disability and NDIS support, community-based support work, and private clinic settings. This diverse experience allows him to understand clients within their personal, family, workplace and systemic environments.
Nicholas supports clients with anxiety and stress, depression and mood-related concerns, interpersonal and relationship difficulties, identity and self-esteem challenges, and adjustment or transitional periods. His approach is warm, collaborative and grounded in evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and related therapeutic frameworks. He tailors his work to each client’s needs, values and goals.
Nicholas is LGBTQI+ affirming and committed to providing a safe, inclusive space where clients feel deeply understood. Alongside individual therapy, he has experience delivering DBT skills programs and other psychoeducational workshops for both adolescents and adults.
He currently has capacity to accept new telehealth referrals and is available to discuss how he can best support clients’ mental health and wellbeing.
